Systematic theology, aesthetics, and the arts.
My research begins in systematic theology but moves deliberately beyond its conventional boundaries: into buildings and paintings, songs and stories, acts of perception and human making. Across these different forms, I am interested in a common set of questions—how things become meaningful, what it means to encounter something beyond ourselves, and what those encounters might disclose about God, the world, and what it means to be human.
